Bournemouth has rejected Chelsea’s £64 million bid for midfielder Alex Scott. The south coast club reportedly values Scott at approximately £80 million, a figure that would represent more than triple the £25 million they originally paid to acquire him.
The bid, the rejection, and the valuation gap
Chelsea’s offer landed on July 21, 2026, and Bournemouth didn’t hesitate to turn it down. The £16 million gap between Chelsea’s bid and Bournemouth’s reported asking price is significant, roughly a 25% spread.
Scott has reportedly rejected multiple new contract offers from his current club. Bournemouth’s strategy appears to be to keep Scott for the 2026/27 season and force any buyer to meet their price.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also reportedly expressed interest in Scott, which gives Bournemouth the luxury of multiple bidders.
