Get ready to go back to summer camp! The new trailer for “Camp Rock 3” invites audiences back into the world of the beloved Disney franchise 18 years after the previous installment.
Premiering Aug. 13 on Disney Channel, followed by its Disney+ debut the following day, “Camp Rock 3” marks the return of Joe Jonas as Shane Gray, Nick Jonas as Nate Gray, Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray and Maria Canals-Barrera as Connie. The plot follows the band Connect 3 as they lose their opening act for a reunion tour, leading them to return to Camp Rock years later to find the best new talent. An official synopsis teases: “As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested — leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances.”
New cast members include Sherry Cola, Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean. The original film released back in 2008, with its sequel, “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” releasing in 2010. The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato serve as executive producers on this third installment.
The film is directed by Veronica Rodriguez (“The Slumber Party”) and written by Eydie Faye (“The Slumber Party”), with Disney Kids & Family producing. Additional executive producers include Tim Federle (“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”), Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh.
