Manchester United is reportedly preparing a €60 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, a move that signals just how aggressively the INEOS-backed administration is pursuing its midfield overhaul. The 20-year-old Frenchman has been on United’s radar since at least 2023, and it appears the club is finally ready to make its move.
PSG reportedly values Zaire-Emery at around £68 million, roughly £17 million more than United’s opening bid of £51 million (the euro equivalent of their €60 million offer).
A lowball opener or a negotiation tactic?
The report, which originated from French outlet Top Mercato, frames United’s bid as more of a temperature check than a serious attempt to get the deal done. The club wants to gauge PSG’s willingness to sell before committing to the kind of fee that would actually move the needle.
Zaire-Emery’s contract situation gives PSG all the leverage they could want. His current deal runs through June 2029, with an option to extend for an additional year.
