A farmer on Monday petitioned the Theni Collector seeking assistance to bring his son’s body to India. The farmer said he was informed on Sunday that his son who was working in Malaysia was found dead.The farmer Thalamuthu of Kovilparai in Theni district said his son Vijayabharathi had gone to Malaysia five months ago. He was working as an employee in a textile shop in Puchong near Kuala Lumpur. Vijayabharathi was married to Karthika and had a one year old daughter.On Sunday, Thalamuthu and his daughter-in-law Karthika received a phone call informing them that Vijayabharathi had died. Thalamuthu said the family was informed that Vijayabharathi was found dead after attempts had been made to wake him from his sleep.Thalamuthu suspected the nature of his son’s death. He said his son was healthy and now he had received a phone call stating that his son had died. A thorough investigation should be conducted to ascertain the truth, he said.He said the family was in financial distress and requested the assistance of the authorities in bringing Vijayabharathi’s body to his native place in Theni district.
