An Additional District and Sessions Court in Shivamogga has convicted a man for sexually assaulting a minor girl and sentenced him to three years’ rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of ₹50,000.The convict, a 23-year-old resident of Shikaripur taluk, sexually assaulted the girl, 15, in 2024. A case was registered at the Shiralakoppa police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The then investigating officer, sub-inspector Pushpa, completed a thorough investigation and filed the chargesheet before the court.After hearing arguments from both sides, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ningouda B.
