At a time when water infrastructure, service delivery, and long-term water security remain high on South Africa's national agenda, the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) will bring together more than 2,000 professionals for a three-day conference.
Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from July 22 to 24, 2026, the conference will bring together delegates from across the water sector for its flagship WISA 2026 Biennial Conference & Exhibition, under the theme “Rethinking Amanzi – Securing Our Future”.
This year’s conference comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa, along with Deputy President Paul Mashatile, launched several water programmes and announced new water infrastructure commitments.
Ramaphosa has pledged R156 billion towards water and sanitation infrastructure over the next three years, while warning that municipalities and officials who fail to manage water services properly could face legal consequences as the government intensifies efforts to tackle South Africa’s worsening water crisis.
