The International Conference on Water Challenges and Solutions (ICWCS 2026) being held in Richards Bay until Wednesday, August 13, intends to brainstorm ideas on global water challenges

The conference aims not only to reflect on global water challenges, but also to accelerate solutions for a better future. The event, hosted by the University of Zululand, Chang’an University, and the Research Centre for Water Science and Technology, aims to explore emerging water issues.

Its primary goal is to share advancements in water management, discuss practical experiences, brainstorm innovative ideas for addressing water scarcity and treatment, and tackle regional and global water challenges.

Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister David Mahlobo will be among thought leaders from various sectors, including water experts, academia, government, civil society, and other stakeholders focused on finding solutions. Mahlobo is expected to deliver the keynote address on Wednesday.
