Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has officially launched Greece’s new €23 billion National Development Program (NDP), which will run from 2026 to 2030.
Funded entirely through national resources, the five-year program will serve as the country’s central development instrument, complementing European Union funding as the Recovery and Resilience Facility enters its final phase.
Speaking at the official launch ceremony at the Athens Conservatoire, Mitsotakis said the program had been made possible by what he described as a highly successful economic management strategy by his government.
“Greece has managed to achieve its fiscal targets, deliver primary surpluses and reduce public debt at a faster pace than any other country in the history of the OECD, while at the same time making resources available for both social policy and investment,” he said.
“This is the culmination and strongest proof of an economic policy that can ultimately spread the benefits of growth for the benefit of all Greek women and men,” Mitsotakis added, stressing that “growth must reach – and will reach – every corner of the country.”
