Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis described the National Development Program 2026-2030 as the country’s main development tool for the next five years, which will be funded exclusively through national resources.
The program will utilize €23 billion for investments across the country, and constitutes evidence of the strengthening of the Greek economy, he said at the event at the Athens Conservatoire.
The NDP will focus on infrastructure, regional development, civil protection, tackling the climate crisis, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and green growth, implemented through 20 sectoral programs, 13 regional ones and four special programs.
Pierrakakis also noted that Greece is growing at rates above the European average, investments are increasing, unemployment is declining, exports are strengthening and public debt is decreasing.
The minister said that national resources from the Public Investment Program will increase from €1.8 billion in 2019 to €3.3 billion in 2026, with the aim of reaching €4.2 billion by 2030.
