Seputla Sebogodi's will be buried on Saturday after a memorial service in Pretoria on Thursday. The veteran actor died last week after diabetes complications.
The funeral service of veteran South African actor Seputla Sebogodi will be held at the Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on Saturday morning, as reports of a dispute over his final resting place continue to emerge.
Sebogodi, 63, died on the evening of Wednesday, July 15, following complications related to diabetes.
Although he was born in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, his family roots are in Ga-Mothapo, east of Polokwane, where relatives reportedly want him to be buried alongside his ancestors.
However, reports suggest that his widow, Machuene Rosina Semenya, whom he married in February 2026, wants him to be laid to rest at Silicon Cemetery in Polokwane instead.
