Operation Prosper members spent their 67-minutes with the little babies at Hannah's Place of Safety

Soldiers who are members of Operation Prosper Western Cape traded patrol duties for community service as they spent Mandela Day supporting vulnerable infants at Hannah’s Place of Safety in Mitchells Plain.

The soldiers used their 67 minutes for Mandela Day on July 18 to deliver a new geyser and essential supplies to the facility, which provides temporary care for abandoned and abused babies under the age of one.

Operation Prosper has been deployed under the command of Joint Tactical Headquarters Western Cape since April 1 as part of efforts to combat gangsterism and related crime on the Cape Flats.

However, the Mandela Day outreach gave deployed members an opportunity to assist the community beyond their security operations.
