Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi welcomed the Johannesburg High Court's forfeiture order granted to the NPA's Asset Forfeiture Unit for assets linked to the Maumela Case.
Under this order, assets valued at roughly R326 million will be forfeited to the State.
These high-value items, acquired through unlawful criminal activities, include luxury vehicles and upscale properties located in Gauteng, Cape Town, and KwaZulu-Natal.
The outcome follows an extensive forensic investigation and a review of Tembisa Hospital's Basic Accounting System by the Specialised Audit Services Unit (SAS) of the National Treasury, into alleged tender fraud and corruption at Tembisa Hospital.
