Some of the luxury vehicles seized that have been forfeited to the State.
A final forfeiture order has been granted for luxury homes and vehicles worth about R326 million that were owned by members of the Maumela syndicate.
The Maumela syndicate refers to entities linked to businessman Hangwani Maumela and others which allegedly irregularly and unlawfully benefited from contracts from the Tembisa Hospital with a cumulative value more than R400 million.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said in a statement that the forfeiture order follows a preservation order granted on August 14, 2025 and covers an extensive collection of luxury real estate in some of South Africa's most exclusive suburbs, including Bantry Bay, Sandhurst, Hartbeespoort, Ballito and Three Anchor Bay.
Also forfeited are several high-performance vehicles, including Lamborghini Urus, Huracan STO, Aventador SVJ and Aventador Ultimae models, a Bentley Continental GT V8, an Isuzu D-Max, a luxury boat and a multipurpose trailer.
