Police seize a variety of illegal substances, including mandrax and ecstasy tablets, along with firearms and cash during a drug bust in Malmesbury.

A 65-year-old Malmesbury man has been arrested and charged with dealing in drugs.

This, after Western Cape police spotted suspicious activities at a house in Fresia Street in Wesbank on Sunday.

The property is opposite the Schoonspruit Secondary School and one road away from where two people were shot dead in a mass shooting two Sundays ago.

Police spokesperson, Andrè Traut, broke down the arrest, saying: “Members were conducting disruptive operations, stop-and-searches and high-visibility patrols in Wesbank, Malmesbury, in response to ongoing gang violence in the area.
