More than 30 residents from Viruthalaipatti in Vedasandur taluk in Dindigul district on Monday staged a protest at the Dindigul Collectorate complaining about drinking water scarcity. They carried empty pots demanding the regular supply of drinking water to their localities.The residents said around 100 families were residing in the areas such as Vinayagar Kovil street, Panchayat Office street, Nayakkar street and Colony street. Drinking water had not been supplied to these localities for more than three months, they complained.They said they were forced to travel over two km to fetch water and this caused them hardship.
