A 66-YEAR-OLD taxi-driver was found dead near his home in San Juan, hours after he was reportedly involved in an altercation with two people in the area.The deceased has been identified as Peter Peters, 66, of Thomas Street, Sunshine Avenue, San Juan.Investigators were told that around 2 p.m. on Friday, Peters became involved in an altercation with two people along Thomas Street. Following the incident, he was reportedly left on the northern side of the roadway.Police said around 4 p.m. on Friday, officers attached to the San Juan Police Station received a report of an assault in the area. When the officers arrived, they observed Peters' body on the southern side of the roadway.Police reported that he was seated in an upright position and was clad only in a blue long pants. They also observed injuries to his chest, shoulders, and over his left eye.The scene was secured and senior officers were notified. Ag Insp Hosein, Woman Sgt Davis and Cpl James visited the scene. His body was removed pending a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Centre, Federation Park.Crime scene officers attached to the Special Evidence Recovery Unit processed the area and recovered two blood swabs as exhibits.WPC Jacob is continuing enquiries.
