An airstrike hit Iran Electronics Industries in northwest Shiraz, adding another chapter to what has become one of the most consequential military campaigns targeting Iranian defense infrastructure in recent memory. The facility in question is no ordinary factory. Shiraz Electronics Industries, a subsidiary of Iran Electronics Industries, produces military-grade radars, avionics, and electronic warfare systems used directly by the Iran Armed Forces.
Videos circulating online showed plumes of smoke rising from the facility’s direction, consistent with earlier strikes that drew similar footage in the months prior.
Why this facility keeps ending up in crosshairs
The US Treasury sanctioned Shiraz Electronics Industries back in 2008, flagging it as a key node in Iran’s defense electronics supply chain. The facility has remained operational in the years since, and it has now become a recurring target in an ongoing US-Israel military campaign that began in early 2026.
By mid-July 2026, more than 300 airstrikes had been documented across Iran, with a single wave on July 11 alone hitting approximately 140 targets. A significant strike on March 29 had already produced visible smoke at the SEI compound, signaling that this location was being prioritized repeatedly rather than checked off a list.
