Ongoing forensic examinations of human remains discovered inside a suitcase at an abandoned building in central Athens on Saturday afternoon indicate that the victim was a woman approximately 30 years old, around 1.65 meters tall, who is believed to have died about eight days before the discovery.
Final results are expected later in the day, according to investigators.
According to reports, the suitcase was found by a homeless man who had been living in the derelict building on Evelpidon Street after he noticed a strong and unusual odor.
Authorities are continuing to determine the exact cause of death, while initial findings suggest investigators are treating the case as a possible homicide.
