A Senior Special Assistant on Media to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Yusuf Dingyadi, has said the deployment of modern security equipment and the adoption of non-kinetic measures by the Federal Government are yielding positive results in the fight against insecurity, particularly in the North-West.
Dingyadi, a journalist, politician and public affairs commentator, stated this in a statement issued on Monday. While acknowledging that insecurity remains one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges, he expressed optimism that ongoing interventions were beginning to produce results.
According to him, the Federal Government has intensified efforts to tackle banditry and other violent crimes in Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina and Sokoto states, which he described as the epicentre of banditry in the country.
“The current deployment of modern security equipment and the use of non-kinetic measures have resulted in the reduction of recurring security challenges across Nigeria, particularly in some vulnerable areas of the North-West,” Dingyadi said.
