The four Californian trucking fleets with new conversion orders for Janus Electric are Golden State Express, WEHACO, Tradelinke Transport, and King Fio Trucking. These 67 diesel-to-truck conversions include 77 swappable battery packs and four Janus Charge & Change Stations.
Ben Hutt, CEO and managing director of Janus Electric, says, “These orders significantly broaden our US customer base, and the decision of these operators to adopt the Janus conversion and battery-swap platform provides important customer validation.” He continued by saying that the company’s focus is now on scaling production and converting its order book into “delivered vehicles and long-term recurring revenue”.
Earlier this month, the Australian company won an expanded Ability Tri-Modal order which, in combination with the most recent orders from the four other Californian companies, increases Janus Electric US order book to 87 truck conversions. The North American total number of orders is brought to 112 conversions with an order for 25 conversions from Canada.
The four new Californian customers are operators serving the freight and port drayage market. The companies serve the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The orders are conditional upon the successful award of California incentive grants for trucks, batteries and shared charging infrastructure.
