At the International Olympic Academy in ancient Olympia, 44 young professionals and students from 20 countries across Europe, Asia and North America gathered for the sixth Summer Academy organized by ELIAMEP and the Institute of Global Affairs at the American College of Greece.
Titled “Leadership Beyond Boundaries: Empowering the Next Generation in an Age of Geopolitical Flux,” the five-day program combined lectures, interactive exercises, simulations and practical training focused on diplomacy, geopolitics and Euro-Mediterranean affairs.
Organizers said the aim is to expose participants from different sectors – including business, transport, energy and journalism – to new ways of understanding a rapidly changing international environment. Discussions examined major powers, regional actors in the Mediterranean, strategic foresight, youth participation in policymaking, the climate crisis and public speaking.
A central emphasis was placed on practical skills, collaboration, adaptability and negotiation. Participants worked in teams on a negotiation simulation, culminating in an effort to reach agreement.
