Danish postal workers warn Brussels against putting profit before public service
Denmark was the first EU country to end letter delivery by its national postal operator and abandon the obligation that the service reaches every address.
It shocked Europe. The postal service, after all, was easy to complain about, but much harder to imagine living without.
As Brussels prepares to rewrite EU postal rules next year, former workers told Euractiv the Danish experience shows what can happen when a public service is judged mainly on whether it turns a profit.
