Residents of Angwan Durun-Uwa community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State were thrown into panic on Thursday following the discovery of the decomposing body of a beheaded woman inside a sack at a refuse dump.

The discovery came two days after the headless body of a middle-aged man was found on farmland within the University of Jos, raising fresh concerns over a string of gruesome killings in Plateau State.

Danjuma Ibrahim, a youth leader in Barkin, who confirmed the incident, said he received a distress call early Thursday morning informing him that a body had been abandoned at the refuse site.

“I received a call at about 7 a.m. that a beheaded woman’s body had been dumped inside a sack at the refuse dump in Angwan Durun-Uwa.

“We immediately alerted the police, who responded to the scene,” Ibrahim said.
