Fear and outrage swept through residents of Ilogbo-Eremi in Badagry, Lagos State, after the lifeless body of an elderly woman was reportedly recovered from a roadside bush under disturbing circumstances, with locals alleging that the victim may have been sexually assaulted and murdered by unidentified attackers.

It was gathered that the victim had attended a programme at The Joy of Christ Ministry, popularly known as Ayo Jesu Church, before the tragic incident occurred.

Residents familiar with the development said that Adegoke had stayed with a relative living near the church after the religious event and was said to be heading home in the early hours of Friday when she was allegedly attacked by hoodlums, according to PUNCH.
