July 19 : Two-time Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard, who was second overall behind Tadej Pogacar, abandoned the race on Sunday after suffering a crash during stage 15 that left his right arm in a sling.Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammate Isaac del Toro both went down with about 20km left in Sunday's stage. Dane Vingegaard was visibly in pain before he was taken into an ambulance.Four-time winner Pogacar was four minutes and 30 seconds ahead of Vingegaard in the general classification coming into the stage.
