Samoa's longest-running cultural and tourism event has undergone a major rebrand, with the iconic Teuila Festival now officially renamed Measina Festival.
The change was revealed in a public notice issued by the Ministry of Tourism announcing registrations for Fa'aaliga o Measina – Measina Festival 2026, replacing the Teuila Festival name that has long been associated with Samoa's annual cultural celebrations.
For many years, the Teuila Festival has served as one of Samoa's signature tourism events, attracting visitors from overseas while showcasing the country's culture through traditional dance, music, sporting competitions, arts and crafts.
Although the name has changed, the programme remains familiar.
This year's festival will feature cultural performances, ma'ulu'ulu, sasa, fa'ataupati, pese Samoa, fautasi races, ta'aloga Samoa, paopao races, va'aalo, kirikiti Samoa, ailao afi and handicraft exhibitions.
