The police said quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, illicit drugs and knives were recovered, while suspects found culpable after screening would be charged to court.
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of at least 118 suspects in multiple operations carried out across several states within the last 24 hours, with recoveries of firearms, ammunition, illicit drugs and other exhibits, while also recording breakthroughs in murder, armed robbery, cultism and child defilement cases.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, disclosed the operational achievements on Saturday, in a post shared on X handle, saying the operations were conducted by various state commands as part of ongoing efforts to tackle violent crime and improve public safety.
According to the police, the Federal Capital Territory Command recorded the highest number of arrests during the reporting period after coordinated raids across identified criminal hideouts.
"Massive coordinated raids were conducted by operatives from 11 divisions across criminal hotspots and uncompleted buildings," the police said, adding that the operation resulted in "87 suspects arrested, the single largest arrest operation nationwide for the reporting period."
