The African Action Congress (AAC), Kogi State Chapter, has disowned a campaign poster circulating on social media, saying the individual presented as the party's candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District was neither recognised nor endorsed by the party.
The party accused those behind the poster of attempting to mislead the public and undermine its internal democratic process, insisting that it had not produced any officially recognised senatorial candidate for Kogi West.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the AAC warned members of the public against accepting the campaign material as authentic and threatened legal action against those responsible for producing and circulating it.
The party said it remained committed to transparency, due process and internal democracy, stressing that any official nomination would only be announced through authorised party channels.
