Ringo, rescued from a French circus in 2008, now lives at Drakenstein Lion Park.
The Hart family is on a mission to secure the future of rescued big cats at Drakenstein Lion Park by launching a fundraising campaign against CapeNature's permit conditions.
The public fundraising campaign is aimed at helping cover legal costs as they challenge CapeNature over permit conditions relating to the sanctuary's big cat enclosures.
The online Back-a-buddy campaign follows a dispute between the sanctuary and the provincial conservation authority over fencing requirements for facilities housing captive predators.
In the campaign, the Hart family alleges that CapeNature has changed its position on the park's fencing after approving its facilities for nearly three decades.
