Cabinet has approved the appointment of finance professional Lealali Faletoese Asaua as the new chief executive officer of the Samoa National Provident Fund (SNPF) for a three-year term.
The government announced the appointment on Friday, describing Lealali as an experienced finance executive with nearly 30 years of service across the international, regional and public sectors.
He succeeds Lemalu Selesitina Meni-Reti, whose term as chief executive has ended.
Lealali holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific, where he graduated with a Gold Medal, a Bachelor of Laws from USP Samoa and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Victoria University in Australia. He is also a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Samoa Institute of Accountants.
The chief executive position was publicly advertised earlier this year following the completion of Lemalu's term.
