Despite having endless affection to give, Hopper currently has nobody to call her own and is hoping a family will finally give her the happy ending she deserves.‌The rescue cat's story is just one of thousands seen by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home every year. The animal charity, which has been rescuing and caring for dogs and cats for more than 160 years, re-homed 3,531 animals in 2024 alone. Battersea never turns away a dog or cat because of its age, breed, medical condition or behavioural history, instead giving each one the care they need before helping them find a loving home.‌Hopper, a domestic shorthair, was just two months old when she was cruelly left in a carrier outside Battersea's gates.‌When Battersea's veterinary team examined the frightened kitten, they discovered she had a severe leg injury that was likely present from birth.The injury was causing her pain and left her vulnerable to repeated infections, meaning vets had no choice but to amputate the affected leg.Thankfully, Hopper has made an incredible recovery and refuses to let having three legs define her.‌The youngster races around her pen with remarkable speed, happily chasing her favourite ping pong ball and pouncing on knitted toy mice as though nothing ever happened.But it's when the games are over that Hopper's loving personality really shines.‌She adores people and will happily climb straight onto a welcoming lap for strokes, chin scratches and as many cuddles as she can get.Despite everything she has been through, Battersea says she absolutely loves attention and is always looking for someone to fuss over her.Now, the charity is hoping someone will see beyond Hopper's three legs and give her the loving home she has never had.Article continues belowShe would thrive with a family with children of any age who can give her plenty of playtime, companionship and affection.Hopper will also need access to a secure private garden in a quiet location so she can safely explore outdoors at her own pace.Anyone interested in offering Hopper the forever home she deserves can contact Battersea's rehoming team at cat.rehoming@battersea.org.uk or visit the charity's website for more information.Choose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.‌CatsAnimals
