In the UK, an estimated 100,000 pups are homeless or living in rescue systems with the RSPCA logging over 22,000 specific pet abandonment reports each year.‌The alarming stats show many dogs are left abandoned and that's the case for poor Snowy who is looking for his forever home. The tiny Maltese cross was left to fend for himself on the streets of Cairo, Egypt, where he is believed to have survived alone for at least three months. By the time rescuers found him, the five-year-old was desperately fighting for his life.‌Snowy was running a high fever, his white coat was so severely matted it had to be shaved off, and the poor dog was suffering from a serious infection in one of his front legs.‌Despite vets doing everything they could, the infection had become so severe that amputating his front left leg was the only way to save him.
