LifestyleDogsGerman Shepherd Christopher is searching for a new home in the UK before he is kicked out on the streets - so do you have a space in your home and heart for him?14:02, 01 Jun 2026An adorable dog is facing a heartbreaking race against time to find a home - with rescuers warning he could be forced onto the streets if nobody comes forward for him in the next few hours. Christopher, a one-year-old German Shepherd, is currently in the care of Greek Stray ResQ, who are desperately searching for someone willing to give him a second chance.‌Despite being young, healthy and full of potential, Christopher found himself running out of options. Rescuers fear that without an adopter, he could soon be left to fend for himself on the streets - something they say would put him at serious risk. In an urgent appeal shared online, the charity said: "Christopher is a magnificent but he is facing a heartbreaking reality: he is about to be put out on the streets."‌They added: "We are searching for a true hero to step in before it's too late."‌Weighing around 25kg, Christopher has been described as healthy and ready to travel from Greece to the UK, with all legal requirements already completed. However, rescuers are keen to stress that Christopher is looking for much more than somewhere to sleep. They say he deserves a family who will treat him as a much-loved pet rather than simply using him as a guard dog.‌The rescue has made it clear that Christopher will not be rehomed as an outdoor-only dog and is instead searching for a home where he can become a valued member of the family.German Shepherds are known for their loyalty, intelligence and strong bonds with their owners, but they also require commitment, training and companionship. The charity believes Christopher has all the makings of a wonderful family dog if given the opportunity.‌Sharing their plea online, rescuers urged supporters to spread the word as quickly as possible. They said: "Share this post immediately. His time is running out, and the right home needs to see this now."The appeal has already attracted attention from dog lovers, with many hoping Christopher's story reaches the right person before it's too late.Article continues belowCommenting on his rehoming post, one user said: "Bless his heart."
