Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev warned that the continued escalation of the war in Ukraine could lead to an even more dangerous phase of the conflict, including a possible tactical nuclear strike. Speaking to journalists after parliamentary oversight, he said that he does not see a clear winner in the war and that the expansion of military operations remains the most alarming development.
Asked whether he still believes Russia cannot be defeated, Radev avoided predicting an outcome and stressed that the conflict has already spread far beyond its initial dimensions.
“I do not see a winner in this war. And this is the most worrying thing for me, because the war is expanding its spatial scope,” the prime minister said.
According to Radev, strikes reaching deep into the territory of both countries have become a regular occurrence, with attacks reported hundreds and even thousands of kilometers away from the front line.
“We already have strikes 2,500 kilometers deep. The whole of Ukraine is under attack in depth. Does this expansion of the conflict not cause concern?” he asked.
