Zelená žaba remains a popular summer destination, attracting visitors from across Slovakia for swimming, sports and relaxation.
One of Slovakia’s most distinct summer destinations is Zelená žaba – literally, “Green Frog” – a historical swimming pool located on a forested hillside above the small spa town of Trenčianske Teplice, in western Slovakia. Carved into the surrounding rocks and recognised as the country’s only cultural monument of its kind, the complex offers a blend of unique architecture and modern facilities.
After years of neglect, the legendary pool complex reopened to visitors in August 2015 following an extensive renovation. Now operating its 10th season since the renovation, the lido attracts visitors with its peaceful woodland setting and historical atmosphere. The complex features three swimming pools, each accompanied by a large whirlpool.

According to the managing director of Zelená žaba, Lukáš Jagnešák, the pool’s status has preserved its character. “Because the complex is protected as a national cultural monument, no further expansion is possible, according to the pool's management.”
