The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday notified the Implementation Committee for Amaravati Economic Region (AER), with the Collectors of Guntur, NTR, Krishna, Eluru, Prakasam, West Godavari, Palnadu, Bapatla and Markapuram districts and Commissioners of Municipal Corporations / Municipalities and Chairpersons of the Urban Development Authorities in those districts as its members.The CEO of AER will be the Chairman of the committee, while Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority Commissioner will be the member-convener. It was stated in G.O Rt No.945 issued by Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration & Urban Development) S. Suresh Kumar that the AER, comprising NTR, Krishna, Eluru, West Godavari, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam and Markapuram districts, has been identified as a strategic economic region for promoting balanced regional development, industrialisation, infrastructure creation, urbanisation, logistics, investment promotion and sustainable economic growth through an integrated planning framework. The committee is tasked with coordinating the implementation of the AER Plan across all participating districts, ULBs, UDAs and the State Departments concerned, preparing, approving and periodically updating a comprehensive implementation roadmap with clearly defined milestones, timelines and responsibilities and ensuring convergence among State Departments, District Administrations, ULBs and UDAs, Government agencies and Central government institutions for effective implementation.
