The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on Tuesday conducted a public hearing at Penumaka village as part of its land acquisition process for the development of the capital city of Amaravati.APCRDA Commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju, along with Additional Commissioners A. Bhargav Teja, and Kollabathula Karthik, interacted with villagers and the landowners.Mr. Vijay Rama Raju explained that land pooling exercise had been undertaken for the construction of roads, Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones and other infrastructure projects in the capital city.He said land acquisition notifications were issued only after repeated efforts to persuade all eligible farmers and landowners to participate voluntarily in the land pooling process. However, he clarified that farmers whose names were included in the recent acquisition notification could still opt for land pooling within the stipulated timeframe.During the hearing, the officials read out the names listed in the government notification and invited objections, if any, from landowners. The Commissioner said the APCRDA was implementing comprehensive plans for infrastructure development in Amaravati villages and urged farmers to cooperate with ongoing construction activities.He advised farmers who had received returnable plots to complete registration formalities at the offices of the authorities concerned.
