Fish Hoek resident Iain Wares' sentencing has been postponed until Tuesday, July 21.

Convicted child sex offender Iain Wares' sentencing has been postponed again, raising alarm among child protection advocates over potential victim safety.

The case against Wares, from Fish Hoek, was postponed by the Wynberg Magistrate's Court this week.

Wares was convicted in March of indecently assaulting a former pupil at a Cape Town school in the 1980s.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila confirmed the latest development.
