The National Trust has partnered with Pokémon GO to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary, with PokéStops, Gyms and themed Summer Quest events coming to more than 140 sites across the UK this August.Charlie Biggs-Thomas14:40, 17 Jul 2026The National Trust is encouraging Brits to 'catch 'em all' – by teaming up with Pokémon GO to mark the game's 10th anniversary.‌Players can discover ‘PokéStops’, ‘Gyms’ and routes at more than 140 sites across the UK, with themed in-game events taking place at 27 National Trust destinations – including Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire, Hanbury Hall (Worcestershire), Mount Stewart (County Down) and Tredegar House (Newport).‌The collaboration encourages Trainers to take their app to National Trust sites in the build-up to the Pokémon GO Summer Quest events, which will run across the first two weekends of August.‌Fans in London will also have the opportunity to take part in Pokémon GO Summer Quest, as two of the UK's biggest creators, Miniminter from the Sidemen and Chunkz from Beta Squad, will go head-to-head in a city-wide race, with fans able to watch the action unfold live and enjoy exclusive experiences of their own.Taking place in Shoreditch across the weekends of 1–2 and 8–9 August, participants will compete for a trip for two to Japan.‌Those who can’t be there in person can take part in nationwide experiences, with the opportunity to enter a separate prize draw to win a trip for two to Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe.Since launching in July 2016, more than 800 million players have collectively explored a distance equivalent to approximately 334 round trips between the Earth and the Sun, and caught one trillion creatures.‌The game generated $1billion in revenue in 2025 alone and has been a top 10 mobile game every year since it launched, showing many are still hoping to catch them all.Ed Wu, president of games at publisher Scopely, said: “As Pokémon GO celebrates its 10th anniversary, what continues to inspire us is how the community has grown with the game.“What started as an invitation to explore the world around you has become something that brings players together across cities, countries, and cultures, from neighbourhood meetups to celebrations that draw hundreds of thousands of people together.Article continues below“As we look ahead, our commitment remains unchanged: to keep evolving the game in ways that turn everyday places into opportunities for discovery and connection.“We’re grateful to every player who has brought Pokémon GO to life in their community, and we’re excited to keep building its future together.”To mark the anniversary, more than 1,000 Trainers gathered in New York’s Times Square to take part in the live Mega Mewtwo Raid Battle on the 9th July – which featured a surprise performance from dance duo Loud Luxury.
