JAECOO J5 BEV arrives in South Africa as the brand's first fully electric offering

Jaecoo has expanded its local J5 range with the introduction of the all-electric J5 BEV, marking the brand's first battery-electric model to be launched in South Africa.

The newcomer joins the existing petrol and hybrid derivatives, giving buyers three powertrain options within the crossover range.

The Jaecoo J5 BEV is priced from R549 900.

Customers who pre-order the vehicle receive an incentive package valued at more than R50 000, including a R12 000 purchase discount, R5 000 in public charging credit and an EV Starter Kit comprising a 7kW home wallbox charger, a portable Type-M charger and a Vehicle-to-Load accessory.

Power comes from a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor driving the front wheels, producing 155kW and 288Nm, with Eco and Sport driving modes.
