US energy intelligence firm LōD Technologies has announced that it will pilot its flexible AI inference technology with major US utility company Dominion Energy.
The pilot will act as the centerpiece of LōD's selection into the 2026 Accelerate program, run by the Dominion Energy Innovation Center (DEIC) in Ashland, Virginia.

The project will see LōD work with Dominion to prove how AI inference workloads can shift in response to real-time grid conditions. LōD claims that its technology allows AI inference workloads to be grid-responsive, shifting compute in real time without impacting performance at the data center.
As part of the pilot, LōD will deploy its CLōD platform, which was launched in April. The platform works by shifting AI inference workloads by dynamically pricing compute based on real-time electricity prices and grid conditions, rather than physically rerouting infrastructure. The company claims that the approach requires no integration from data centers or cloud providers and currently manages more than 500MW of capacity, primarily through real-time ERCOT grid signals.
