Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has congratulated the newly elected executive members of the Adamawa State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, who emerged after the local government elections on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri urged the new ALGON leadership to provide purposeful leadership and justify the confidence reposed in them by their colleagues.

The new executives emerged on Wednesday after the swearing-in of the 21 elected local government chairmen in the state.

Dr. Titus Obadiah, Chairman of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, was elected chairman of the chapter. Yusuf Mohammed, Chairman of Madagali Local Government Area, emerged as vice chairman, while Ibrahim Jibrin, Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, was elected secretary.
