Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day, urging citizens to continue supporting democratic governance to ensure greater development and improved living conditions across the country.
In a statement issued by Humwashi Wonosikou, his Chief Press Secretary, Governor Fintiri described June 12 as a historic milestone that symbolizes the resilience, sacrifices, and triumph of the Nigerian people in their quest for democratic rule.
He paid tribute to both living and departed heroes of democracy whose struggles helped entrench the democratic system currently enjoyed in the country.
The governor noted that June 12 remains a watershed in Nigeria’s political history, stressing that it serves as a reminder that power ultimately belongs to the people.
Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparent, inclusive, and people-oriented governance, aimed at improving the welfare of citizens and promoting sustainable development.
