As Nigeria marked the 2026 Democracy Day, leaders across the country reflected on the nation’s democratic journey, urging vigilance, unity, welfare and accountability. Governors, civil society groups, political actors, and pro-democracy movements, all reflecting on 27 years of uninterrupted civilian rule, emphasizing that democracy remains the nation’s best hope for progress, while warning against apathy, insecurity, and divisive politics.
