Collector Ranjeet Singh on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the preparations for ‘Saaral Vizhaa 2026’ to be held at Courtallam for five days from July 31.Top officials from all government departments attended the meeting. The Collector, who allocated the events for the festival and the works to be undertaken by each department, asked the officials to make all-out efforts to turn the event attractive for visitors. The Department of Tourism organises ‘Saaral Vizhaa’ every year during the Courtallam season with a range of cultural events and competitions for the public, especially tourists. Hence, the district administration has proposed to organise the event from July 31 to August 4. While the annual event is usually an eight-day affair every year, it has been reduced to five this year due to poor season and poor flow of water in all waterfalls of Courtallam.District Forest Officer R. Rajmohan, Sub-Collector, Tenkasi, Vaishnavi Paul and others participated in the meeting. Published - July 16, 2026 08:31 pm IST
