New Delhi: Specialized protective garments designed to safeguard farmers from extreme heat and insect bites, advanced diabetic wound care through specialized bandages, and ultra-lightweight insulated mattresses for personnel stationed in high-altitude regions are some of the value-added and innovative products are taking the spotlight at Bharat Tex 2026.Noida-headquartered RSWM is showcasing its protective wear collection comprising high-performance spun yarns for flame-resistant, anti-static and protective textile applications while the Trident Group’s 17-odd patents and 147 trademarks, are driving next-generation advances in advanced fibre blends, functional finishes and high-performance yarns tailored to premium and niche markets.“The textile industry is evolving beyond products to conversations around sustainability, traceability, innovation and responsible manufacturing,” said Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director, RSWM Limited, adding that the company is focused on advanced materials, circular manufacturing and next-generation fibres.A pavilion focussed on products made by startups, many of which are prototypes, too are a highlight at the fair, which began July 14.The centre displays a curated range of high-value textile and technical textile products that are currently imported worth $4.8 billion from countries such as China, Taiwan and South Korea and other countries but have strong manufacturing potential within India.“We are committed to promoting import substitution and export-oriented manufacturing in India, and this can only be achieved through an innovative mindset” young innovators, researchers and students from across the country to develop market-oriented solutions for real-world challenges,” said Ravi Bhushan Arora, Fouder & CEO, Unified Knowledge Solutions, a startup providing services to execute textile projects.Most of these products are made of manmade fibre, whose production has grown to 7.5 million MT in 2023-24 from 6.25 million MT in 2019-20 and is projected to accelerate sharply to 13 million MT by 2030-31.Smart yarns with superior colour consistency and design versatility, and made from natural fibres such as Eri Silk, Hemp, Ramie and Suvin Gold Cotton, alongside advanced performance materials including Graphene and Dyneema, too have been showcased at the mega textile fair besides sustainable fibre innovations featuring organic cotton, bamboo, circulose, seacell and recycled cotton.
