A presidential candidate in the forthcoming Nigerian Bar Association election, Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okunsanya (SAN), on Thursday said her ambition is driven by a desire to reposition the association to better serve the welfare and professional interests of lawyers across the country.
Speaking during a campaign visit to members of the Jalingo Branch of the NBA, Badejo-Okunsanya said the association must evolve beyond the perception that it primarily caters to private legal practitioners.
She noted that the NBA’s membership comprises lawyers in diverse areas of practice, including the public service, academia and corporate organisations, stressing that every member deserves equal attention and representation.
According to her, if elected, her administration will focus on improving members’ welfare, enhancing professional opportunities and strengthening the protection and dignity of legal practitioners.
