Many senior members of the legal profession have endorsed the candidacy of Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN) for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association, citing her leadership qualities, experience and vision for reform ahead of the association’s July 18, 2026 election.
Among those who publicly backed her were Senior Advocates of Nigeria Funke Adekoya, Yinka Omorogbe, Ronke Adeyemi and Funke Agbor.
Adekoya argued that the NBA had historically achieved its most significant reforms under presidents who emerged from outside the traditional circle of national NBA politics.
“The NBA has fared best when its President has been an ‘outsider’ to NBA politics,” she said.
