Ukraine was the largest recipient of German government arms export licenses in the first half of 2026, with approved exports worth more than EUR 2.52 billion.
According to Ukrinform, the figures were released by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
"Export licenses worth approximately EUR 2.5 billion were issued for Ukraine to support its military self-defense against Russia's war of aggression, which is illegal under international law. Ukraine therefore ranks first both among third countries [non-EU and non-NATO states] and among all recipient countries in terms of the total value of export licenses granted," the ministry said.
After Ukraine, the largest recipients of German arms export licenses were the United States with EUR 1.65 billion, the Netherlands with EUR 1.3 billion, the Czech Republic with EUR 1.24 billion, and Lithuania with EUR 1.21 billion.
