Germany’s contribution to the two-year support package for Ukraine, agreed upon at the NATO summit in Ankara, will amount to approximately 23 billion euros, as allocated in the federal budget for 2026 and 2027 for military aid to Ukraine.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the German government’s press service in response to a question about Germany’s share of the total support for Ukraine agreed upon at the NATO summit.
“This year and next, the budget allocates a total of approximately 23 billion euros solely for the capacity-building initiative to provide military support to Ukraine. Thus, these funds will constitute Germany’s share of the support for Ukraine, as decided at the NATO summit,” the press service stated.
It was also noted that since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Germany has provided or committed approximately 55.5 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine for the coming years, as well as 41 billion euros in civilian support.
“Germany is by far Ukraine’s largest donor and, since the start of Russia’s war of aggression, has provided bilateral civilian support totaling approximately 41 billion euros, as well as military support totaling approximately 55.5 billion euros, either already provided or earmarked for the coming years,” the German government’s press office noted.
